Homework: High Speed Photography

High speed photography is very interesting because it captures the beauty and wonder of something happening instantly that we usually can't see. These are five examples from the internet that I have found. The first picture is of marbles dropping into some sort of glass container, and it creates interesting reflections. The second picture is more abstract since it's hard to tell what it actually is. The rainbow colors it has makes it really awesome. I also like how the splatter is reflected on the black surface below. The third picture is my favorite picture of the ones I've posted because it's so simple and yet so complicated at the same time. The background looks kind of like a cityscape or stars in the night sky, and inside the water drops you can imagine a world within it that mirrors the background. The colors are pretty and the depth of field is awesome since the drops are sharp and clear and the background is blurry. The fourth picture is a water balloon being popped, which looks like something exploding (I think on the website, it said it looked like a planet being blown up). You can see the individual streams of water, which is cool cause you generally can't see them when someone hits you with a water balloon. The fifth picture is a light bulb being shattered which is cool cause you can still see the last remaining light at the bottom before it would completely disappear from being broken. These pictures make me want to try this technique on my own if I learned how to do it.
